My Granddaughter spent time with me over the Holidays
I tried and tried to get my granddaughter to make a square dance quilt. Just sew the large blocks together and I would do the cutting for her. I picked out all this great fabric in pastel colors with flowers and small prints and even some metallic (to give it even more “bling”) but she just did not have any interest in it. She took out one piece and then another and asked if she could use these instead – for a different project. Of course when you want them be interested in your hobby you agree to take a piece out of a kit. She started sewing them together – she was making a quilt for her brother and he is an outdoors person so she wanted earth tones. She is already better with color than I am. Very proud of what she did. This is a great quilt for her younger brother. Flannel backed and just the right size.
