Fleece Lap Quilts for the Shriner Hospital
All 13
These will go to Ronald McDonald
These will go to the Shriner's Hospital
It was a good weekend. We started with the threat of snow on Thursday and it was delievered! Roads were in bad shape, so nothing to do but stay home. My husband had just received a flyer with a list of items the Shriners Children Hospital could use and one of the items was fleece lap blanket (50” x 60”). I had accumulated several yards of fleece over the last couple of years (left over from other projects and donated to me) and had no plans for it. This was perfect. I matched colors for some, Zebra with black, Red with Blue. But then I ran out of colors that looked good together so I put in cotton on one side and fleece on the other. If it was a lighter weight fleece I lined it with batting. They were all quilted on my long arm and I only put binding on one. The rest had a zig zag stitch and then I went around them with a pinking Shears. By the end of Saturday there were 13 lap quilts. 5 of them went to the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, MN and the other 8 will go to the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis. Next project will be pillow cases for the Shriners. Another great way to use up some of that stash!
