"A lifetime’s not too long to
live as friends and a quilt is
not too small to sew them in."

What pattern should you pick
The fabric is so busy you can not see the quilting
Can you see the rose in the large block?
A lighter color thread would have helped show the quilting
back of the border-you can almost see the roses
This is the back of a large rose-trust me it is great!
On this quilt the client wanted more than just edge to edge with the same pattern being repeated over and over again.  We sat down and she liked the rose block.   I altered the pattern to fit in the larger light colored pieces and that is what I used.   They do not show up as there is too much going on with the pattern in the fabric.   Don't get me wrong.   I love the fabric, but my quilting does not show in it.  On the small cream colored pieces I put in the Rose Block - that shows well, but it is small.  On the rest of the quilt there were HST and I did an arch from corner to corner.   On the solid fabric this show up, but on the printed - again it disappears.   The back of the quilt is of the same fabric, so it does not show up there either.   Trust me, I did an excellent job of quilting, but none of it shows.  Had she wanted a different color of thread (we used a wine red) that would have helped in the border - which is also quilted with a rose pattern - but it would not have shown in the printed fabric.  Just another item you will have to consider when making the quilt.
